Lophophora Fricii cv Takenaka

Lophophora Fricii cv Takenaka, commonly known as the peyote cactus, is a hybrid variety resulting from the crossbreeding of Japanese cacti varieties by Thai breeders. The aim of this hybridization is to achieve the best combination of ribs and overall shape by crossing different Fricii varieties. One of the outstanding features of this particular hybrid is more wrinkled specimens.
The ribs of the Lophophora Fricii Takenaka or aalso named Tanenaga peyote cactus exhibit significant size and furrows. As the cactus matures, these ribs become even more striking, resembling undulating waves on its skin.
This unique cactus has gained immense popularity in the Asian market, and some specimens hold an inestimable value among collectors and enthusiasts.
